2023 State Event


This year's event will be hosted on August 5 & 6, 2023, at Capital Area Sportsmen’s League

(CASL), 7534 Old River Trail, in Lansing, Michigan.

We are busy putting the finishing touches on the state event. Please fill out the registration form online or print and mail to: MYSC PO BOX 311 Carson City, MI 48811 by July 15, 2023.

All 8 events will take place.

  • One $500 Scholarship will be awarded to a 2023 graduate this year. Please see the website for more details and be mindful of that deadline.

  • Rustic camping will be available on-site at a cost of $50 for the weekend. To reserve your campsite, please fill out a camping registration form and mail it back to us with your payment.

    A confirmation will be sent to you. Motel lodging is available at your own expense, there are several options near the event.

  • We will be offering a special 30th anniversary apparel to purchase this year. Please

    see social media or the website to order.

  • The 2023 event pins are available for $4 to purchase. Please indicate on your registration form if you would like one and include the price with your registration check. This will be a special pin commemorating our 30th anniversary.

  • If you would like the NRA YHEC participation certificate, please indicate this on your registration form. We will be happy to print one for you.

  • CASL will be providing lunch. Each participant will get a ticket from MYSC to cover your lunch. Family and friends may purchase lunch on site from CASL. Cash only.

  • Participants will need to provide their own ammo for shotgun and rifle this year.

    Please make sure that, prior to the event, you read the updated Rules and Regulations for specifications on this so that there are no surprises on the day of the event. They can be found on the webpage.

  • Coaches will need to fill out a registration form found on website, and submit team names.

  • We will be having a coach’s division again this year. More information can be found in the coach’s packet.

  • There are many opportunities to get involved, here are a few:

    1. Volunteer - We can use help from Friday set up through Sunday clean up.

    2. Donate - We are a nonprofit and operate off donations. We are also in need of silent auction items, and prizes for the event. No matter how big or small we appreciate them all.

    3. Word of mouth - Most of our advertising comes word of mouth. Tag us on social media, tell a friend, invite someone to participate or watch.

  • - Closed toe shoes are required on all courses

    - Hunter orange is required for Safety trail

    - Long pants recommended on all courses (poison ivy, ticks)

    - Don’t forget to bring bug spray

    - Sun block is highly recommended!

    - Some events take a while to get through. Pack snacks and drinks to take with you.

    Please put trash in the proper place.

    - You must get through the Safety Trail and Wildlife ID on Saturday. Participants should

    plan to only have the test and 1 event left on Sunday.
