Plans are currently underway for the 2025 UP Regional MYSC (Michigan Youth Sportsmen Competition) that will be held at the Chippewa County Shooting Association on Saturday, June 28th. This great youth program has been held in Chippewa County since 2014 (except for 2020).

The UP Regional MYSC is a program in outdoor skills and safety training for young hunters. Open only to those who have completed hunter-safety training at the state or provincial level, the program is conducted under simulated hunting conditions to provide the best practical environment for reinforcing and testing a young hunter’s skills.

We are a non-profit 501c3 and rely on your donations to run the event each year for our youth. In order to keep MYSC running safely and smoothly we anticipate needing to raise roughly $6,000.00, with donations to fund the entire regional operation. Sponsors of this program provide us the opportunity to award EVERY participant a prize, including four grand prizes (typically a muzzle loader, a compound bow, a .22 caliber air rifle, and a .22 caliber rifle), a t-shirt, lunch, medals for the top three places in five of the disciplines-in addition to other expenses involved in running this event.

There are two ways you can help:

Volunteer! We have an amazing group of volunteers and enjoy having participants come help run our event once they age out of the program. We are always looking for people just as passionate about helping our youth as we are! Visit the UP Volunteer tab on our website for more information.

Donate! Monetary donations help us meet the financial needs we have to run this wonderful program. This is our biggest need. Prize donations are always welcomed and the participants enjoy them and look forward to them each year. We like to recognize our sponsors at our event, on our website, and on our social media page. Remember we are a 5013c non-profit and a tax write-off. If you are able to donate please fill out the donation form at the bottom.
